Terroir: Sandy schist, Sand and Aeolian,
schist and phtanite (volcanic rocks) Close to "La Coulée de Serrant" and
"La Roche aux Moines", the "Clos le Grand Beaupréau" is dominated by its
altitude together with the appellation of Savennières. Thanks to this
liberty of horizon, wind is an essential aspect in the requirement for
the mineralization of this terroir.
Tasting notes: A golden clear yellow colour,
a thick and brilliant disk, greasy legs. First opened nose, huge
aromatic complexity, magnificent Chenin expression and of its soil.
Fruit flavor is very present: apricot and quince mix remarkably together
to form a subtly fresh almond and beeswax aroma. Mouthfeel has a rich
and smooth attack; beautiful maturity of chinin which associates the
fruit, the mineral and a distinguished freshness which come directly
from the Savennières' soil.
Potential ageing: 10 to 20 years
